Teapot Design Cast Iron 1.00L in (Black with tea infuser) This instrument is reminiscent of more traditional times in which the brewing of tea was a gentle, yet meticulous form of art. Cast iron teapots were originally created in ancient China. These were then adopted and developed by the Japanese in the 17th century into practical as well as decorative handicraft items sold under the name of “Tetsubin”. Our colourful teapots are made from high quality cast iron, each with an enamel interior and tea infuser. At Basilur we believe that every utensil in our collection must compliment the sophistication and uniqueness of our tea blends. These teapots are specially designed, so heat is evenly distributed throughout the pot to better extract the flavours of the tea. This also ensures it stays piping hot for longer. All our cast iron teapots can also be used as a kettle on a gas or wood burning stove to boil water. Features: - • High-quality cast-iron body • Studded body decorations • Enamelled interior • Handle and lid knob will never get hot • Excellent drip free pouring • Large volume capacity 1.00L Cast Iron Teapot in Black is exactly how we expect Oriental teapots to look, a beautifully flat and wide body shape, gorgeous yet plain enamel colouring and a textured surface. Instructions for use: - 1. Before using to brew tea, boil a pot of water and pour it out to prepare the pot for use. 2. After each use, make sure that the pot is clean and dry to prevent the formation of rust. Always remember to use fresh or spring water, if mineral water is left in the pot, chemicals from the minerals in the water may eventually erode the enamel coating. 3. Tea should not be left in the pot overnight. 4. In the unlikely event of rust, the pot can still be used. After cleaning the rusted area with a soft brush, boil used teabags or tealeaves. The tannic acid from the tea will react naturally with the iron producing a coating over the area. 5. Store your pot in a cool, dry place or put it on display. We are shipping daily without delays.
